Our Commitment
Accentix is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to people with disabilities. We believe the web should work for everyone, and we hold ourselves to the same standard we set for our clients.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the internationally recognized benchmark for web accessibility — across all pages and components of this site.
Standards We Follow
WCAG 2.1 Level AA
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 are published by the W3C and define how to make web content more accessible. Level AA is the standard required by most accessibility laws worldwide. In plain language, it means our site should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people using assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and zoom magnification.
Section 508
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires U.S. federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible. While Accentix is a private company, we align our work with Section 508 standards — particularly for clients in local government and the public sector.
What This Means in Practice
In practice, these standards mean every page on this site should be navigable without a mouse, readable by screen readers, free of content that could trigger seizures, and understandable without relying on color alone.
Features of This Site
The following accessibility and privacy features are built into every page of this site:
- No third-party cookies or tracking scripts
- We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other tracking service. No consent banners, no fingerprinting.
- Self-hosted fonts
- Fonts are served from our own server — not Google Fonts or any external CDN — so no data is sent to third parties when you load a page.
- Semantic HTML structure
- We use proper HTML landmarks (
header, nav, main, footer) and a logical heading hierarchy so assistive technologies can navigate the page structure. - Keyboard navigable
- All interactive elements — links, buttons, and form fields — are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone. Focus indicators are always visible.
- Screen reader compatible
- ARIA labels, roles, and live regions are used where native HTML alone is insufficient. Decorative images and icons are hidden from assistive technology.
- Color contrast meets 4.5:1 minimum
- All normal-sized text meets the WCAG AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against its background. Large text meets the 3:1 minimum.
- Descriptive alt text on all images
- Every meaningful image has a descriptive alt attribute. Decorative images use an empty alt (
alt="") so screen readers skip them. - Skip navigation link
- A "Skip to main content" link appears at the top of every page, allowing keyboard and screen reader users to bypass the navigation and go directly to the page content.
Known Limitations
We continuously test and improve this site's accessibility. However, no website is perfect. Known areas we are actively monitoring include:
Some third-party content — such as embedded maps or external links — may not meet our accessibility standards, as we do not control those services. We minimize the use of third-party content for exactly this reason.
Feedback and Contact
If you experience any accessibility barriers on this site, we want to hear about it. Your feedback helps us improve for everyone.
Please contact us at hello@accentix.com and describe the barrier you encountered. We aim to respond within one business day.
When contacting us, it helps to include the page URL, the assistive technology or browser you are using, and a brief description of the issue.
Assessment Approach
We assess the accessibility of this site using the following methods:
- Automated testing — WAVE by WebAIM
- We use the WAVE web accessibility evaluation tool to identify errors, alerts, and contrast failures across all pages.
- Manual keyboard navigation testing
- We manually tab through every page to verify focus order, visible focus indicators, and that all functionality is operable without a mouse.
